Your Pinterest account isn’t growing? Don’t worry, you are not alone. Many beginners, including me when I started, I made the same mistakes. The good news is that you have decided to take action and started doing research, which is one of the most important things you need to do if you truly want to grow your account. This blog is going to help you do that.
Now let's look at some of the reasons why your account is not growing:
1. Not Posting Enough Pins
This is the number one mistake I see. A lot of people think posting one or two pins a day is enough. But it’s not. Pinterest loves fresh content. If you’re posting less than 10 pins a day, it’s going to be hard to get noticed. There's no way you are expecting to get views when you are pinning less than 100 pins a month unless you are a celebrity or really, really lucky. And no, re-pinning your old pins doesn’t count!
2. Pinning Without a Plan
Some people pin whatever looks good without thinking about their audience. You can't just take a random image and put it on Pinterest and expect people to love it. You need to do a lot of research. Pinterest is like a search engine. Your pins need to match what people are searching for. If you’re not using the right keywords in your pin titles, descriptions, or boards, it’s like shouting into the void.
3. Your Pins Aren’t Eye-Catching
Let’s be honest. Pinterest is all about visuals. If your pins don’t stand out, people will scroll past them. Low-quality images, messy designs, or tiny text on your pins can hurt your growth. Think of yourself. If you are on Pinterest, you'll see a lot of different images. You see a clear image of a pin written "How to Make Money Online." It's clear, has a background image of a person with a happy expression holding a lot of cash, and let's say you are looking for a way to make money online. There is a 70% chance you are going to click that pin.Look at this image and tell are you not going to click it?
Here's another image example
Why are you going to click it? First,
- it's irresistible
- it's eye-catching
- it's clear, well-written, and has no spelling issues.
There are a lot of pins on Pinterest. You have to make yours special and stand out from the rest. You have to make the pin spark curiosity.
4. Ignoring Group Boards
Group boards are a great way to get your pins in front of more people. But if you’re not joining the right boards or are not active on them, you’re missing out on free traffic.
5. Giving Up Too Soon
Many people quit after a few weeks when they don’t see results. That’s a huge mistake! Pinterest growth takes time. For me, it took a whole year before I started seeing any real results. What changed? I realized my mistakes and decided to get serious with my account. Once I did, my Pinterest took off. In just three months of being consistent and focused, I went from struggling to having over 1 million monthly views.
